The Schutzhaus am Falkenstein is within walking distance and ideal for a short excursion. There was a lot going on on Sunday when the weather was nice and the paths were sometimes very flat. The food and service is terrific and of course the Aisblixk is second to none!

Nice hike to an awesome hut/lodge with a great view

An excellent place to stay with friendly staff. The view through the panorama window is unique. At night there were shooting stars to be seen.

From Železná Ruda, the 600 altitude meters are honestly worked ... Nice sitting upstairs, beautiful view.

Very exhausting for lowland hikers but you are rewarded with a great view, very good food and friendly staff. Always my pleasure. We recommend!

Parking in Germany, just outside the border in the parking lot for tourists for free, down the hill, the road leads to Malý and then to Velký Falkenstein, beautiful views, refreshments

Wonderful place to stay! The Falkenstein refuge was reopened in 2018 and the accommodation was very well furnished. The house looks modern and all details have been coordinated. It is very comfortable for mountain accommodation, the rooms and sanitary facilities are modern. The view of the valley is also overwhelming - especially from the dining room with its large, impressive panoramic window. The house is then run by friendly staff - what more could you want. I can absolutely recommend this property.

Great views

The new refuge on the Falkenstein is just great! The new building combines tradition and modernity in the best Bavarian manner, the rooms are very beautiful and other catering establishments including some hotels can learn a lot from the sanitary facilities. The innkeepers are very nice, friendly and helpful at all times and the food is extremely delicious. Gladly again anytime!

Magnificent views, very friendly staff and delicious food. What more do you want. The new shelter on the Great Falkenstein perfectly combines the old and the new! Top recommendation.

Amazing place, with incredible veiw!

A beautiful destination in the middle of the Bavarian National Park. While hiking, you walk on narrow wild paths, on falling mountain goblets always up to the large Falkenstein and above you will be rewarded with a great little inn !!!
